This position offers significant opportunities for skill enhancement and career development within AIG's Controllership division.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the quarterly and annual accounting closing processes for domestic General Insurance entities, ensuring timely transaction recording in compliance with US GAAP and statutory regulations, along with the execution and documentation of related SOX controls.
  • Prepare and present accurate financial disclosures for the General Insurance North America segment, including 10-Q and 10-K reports.
  • Oversee critical internal control functions essential to the closing process, including analytical reviews of segment performance and balance sheets, and evaluate key accounting estimates from various organizational functions.
  • Develop and mentor a small team of direct reports, fostering professional growth and development.
  • Utilize advanced knowledge of AIG's reporting systems to efficiently respond to ad hoc analytical requests from senior management, while proactively anticipating future needs and streamlining processes for effective delivery.
  • Assist the AIG Corporate Controllership during peak external financial reporting periods, including validating inputs for quarterly earnings releases.
  • Support the preparation of standalone financial statements for various regulated insurance subsidiaries.
  • Contribute to or lead projects related to significant transactions and ad hoc activities, such as acquisitions and capital transactions.
  • Drive initiatives to enhance the control environment and implement process improvements, particularly focusing on leveraging technology and developing automated solutions as part of AIG's Finance transformation.

Job Requirements:

  • Preferred qualification: CPA.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience, ideally with a Big Four background and a proven history in progressive finance management roles within the Property & Casualty sector.
  • Strong operational control and technical accounting expertise in a dual SEC and NAIC reporting environment.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, transformational setting, viewing change as an opportunity for personal and professional growth.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proficiency in developing and delivering presentations across teams.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accuracy while maintaining a broader perspective on effective communication and interdepartmental relationships.
