MEP Superintendent

The MEP Superintendent is responsible for the daily operation of a job site, including scheduling, production, and procurement of materials, manpower, and equipment. This role requires strong leadership and organizational skills to ensure successful project completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement project schedules, including start and completion times, and staffing requirements for each phase of construction.
- Coordinate with the Project Manager to determine project schedules and develop look-ahead schedules to assess progress and identify potential issues.
- Direct procurement of tools and materials to be delivered at specified times to conform to work schedules.
- Ensure all parties involved with the project are informed of construction issues and progress, including supervisory personnel, craft personnel, subcontractors, and clients.
- Work with supervisory personnel and labor representatives to resolve complaints and grievances within the project workforce.
- Confer with supervisory and engineering personnel, inspectors, and suppliers to resolve construction problems and improve construction methods.
- Inspect work in progress to ensure that work conforms to specifications and construction schedules.
- Manage the project based on progress reports, materials used, and costs, and adjust work schedules accordingly.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction-related field or equivalent and at least 5 years commercial construction experience in a Mission Critical environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of construction processes.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to and from the project site.
- Understanding and application of building codes and other design requirements, and ability to read blueprints accurately.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, with ability to express ideas clearly and effectively.
- Good administrative and management skills, with ability to monitor progress and coordinate work activities.
- Excellent problem-solving ability, with ability to find and use relationships between data from different sources to formulate alternative solutions.
