Job Description:

S.P. Richards Company is seeking a highly skilled Distribution Center Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our distribution center. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and accurate receipt, storage, and shipping of merchandise.

The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. An Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school is preferred. Four-year college degree is also preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Directs and coordinates warehouse activities by performing duties such as assigning workers to accurately receive and stock all inbound freight, and assigns workers to accurately pull all customers orders and ship in specified time frame.
  • Administers company safety programs to ensure a safe and healthy environment for all employees.
  • Communicates with inbound and outbound freight companies.
  • Manages the fleet of trucks and drivers.
  • Establishes operational procedures for verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of merchandise, and the accurate keeping of warehouse inventory.
  • Coordinates activities of the warehouse with activities of central purchasing, merchandising, sales, and finance departments to ensure availability of merchandise and proper execution of administrative transactions.
  • Communicates information to General Manager, Operation Manager, or Headquarters in a timely manner to expedite merchandise receipt, shipping, and special handlings.
  • Directs reclamation of damaged merchandise.
  • Understands and operates PKMS warehouse management system.
  • Monitors the daily checklist to ensure all processes are completed before the end of the shift.
  • Prints and interprets reports to measure employee productivity.

Qualifications:

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • An Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school is preferred.
  • Three years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Estimated Salary: $70,000 - $85,000 per year based on location and experience.
