We are seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant I-CNA to join our team at Northern Light Mercy Hospital. As a CNA, you will provide direct and indirect patient care under the direction of nursing staff, performing duties such as feeding, bathing, dressing, grooming, or moving patients, or changing linens. You will also transfer or transport patients as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Communicate and interact with patients and families, physicians, peers, and other healthcare members to maximize successful customer outcomes and maximize function of the unit.
  • Precept team members to job function.
  • Orient patients to hospital environment and routine.
  • Attend and serve on one unit committee or educational peer opportunity to improve quality and/or engagement.
  • Document all aspects of patient care in a timely manner.
  • Participate in unit quality improvement initiatives.
  • Communicate appropriate information and patient needs to oncoming staff at change of shift and to RN in a timely manner for follow-up.
  • Provide care in accordance with the patient's plan of care.
  • Label and deliver specimens per policy.
  • Maintain a safe environment complying with NLH policies and procedures; report and directly address environmental hazards and violations of patient safety policy and/or protocol when involved or observed.
  • May perform other duties upon request.

  • Required: Certified Nursing Assistant
  • Education: No minimum requirement
  • Working Conditions: Lifting, moving, and loading 30 to 50 pounds; alternate shift schedules (day, evening, nights, weekends)
