Speech Language Pathologist Opportunity at Spaulding Rehabilitation

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our interdisciplinary team at Spaulding Rehabilitation. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will be responsible for providing evaluation and treatment to patients of all ages with speech, language, cognitive-communicative, voice, and swallowing disorders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patients' speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing skills using standardized assessments and professional guidelines.
  • Develop and implement individually tailored treatment plans that reflect patients' age, situation, and discharge plans.
  • Monitor patient progress, reassess, and modify treatment plans as needed.
  • Document diagnostic findings, patient performance, and treatment plans in accordance with facility and practice guidelines.
  • Prepare accurate billing to reflect care provided to patients.
  • Orient, train, and mentor Speech Language Pathology and healthcare students to achieve stated performance expectations.
  • Identify and implement performance improvement opportunities to ensure best practices.
  • Participate in departmental, organizational, or network activities to achieve established objectives.

Qualifications and Experience

Education/Degree

Required
  • Master's Degree in Communication Disorders from an ASHA-accredited university program.
Licensure/Certification

Required
  • Licensed (and in good standing) or eligible for licensure in Speech Language Pathology by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association or meet educational requirements for certification or is completing Clinical Fellowship Year.
Skills

Required
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Basic skills in math and computer science.
  • Appropriate knowledge of speech language evaluation and treatment techniques to manage the rehabilitation population.
  • Effective problem-solving skills for speech language evaluation, interpretation, treatment planning, and execution.
  • Basic skills in teaching others and self-assessment of learning needs, strengths, and professional goals.
  • Safely execute all job responsibilities without risking injury to self or patients.
  • Computer proficiency required, with Microsoft Office applications preferred.
  • Maintain a variable work schedule to provide patient care, including evenings, holidays, weekends, and travel.
