We are seeking a highly skilled Radiation Oncology Physicist to join our team at HealthEcareers - Client. As a key member of our radiation oncology department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective delivery of radiation therapy treatments to our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Verify the proper operation and safety of all radiation-producing machines and sources in accordance with established guidelines and protocols.
- Perform measurements or other evaluations as necessary to ensure accurate dose delivery for treatments, utilizing independent judgment and learned methodologies according to established policy and procedures.
- Provide support and assistance in the delivery of all radiation therapy treatments, including advanced specialized therapies, and assist in the evaluation and implementation of new therapies and protocols.
- Assist in staff continuing education on appropriate medical physics and radiation safety procedures as needed, demonstrating professional behavior and conduct in all interactions.
- Masters degree or Ph.D. in medical physics or a related discipline is required.
- American Board of Radiology (ABR) board certification in Therapeutic Radiation Physics (or equivalent) is strongly preferred. Eligibility for ABR board certification within 4 years of hire is required.
- Licensure by the relevant state department of public health is required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
