ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Facility Maintenance Worker role is essential for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of The Salvation Army properties. This includes various facilities such as community centers, residential quarters, and support shelters, ensuring a secure and sanitary environment for all activities.

Key Responsibilities:
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
- Perform cleaning duties in community centers, residential quarters, and support shelters, including:
    o Interior: clean, strip, wax, seal, and buff floors.
    o Vacuum and shampoo carpets.
    o Dust and polish furniture and woodwork.
    o Sanitize restrooms, fountains, windows, blinds, and light fixtures.
    o Wash and paint walls.
    o Empty and clean waste receptacles.
    o Wash windows.
- Manage inventory and restock cleaning supplies.
- Conduct exterior maintenance, including:
    o Lawn mowing and landscaping.
    o Leaf and trash removal as needed.
    o Snow and ice removal from walkways and driveways.
- Assist with program activities by setting up tables, chairs, and equipment for events.
- Maintain vehicles by transporting them for repairs, checking fluids, and ensuring they are registered and inspected.
- Support the Food Pantry by assisting with pickups and deliveries as needed.

Qualifications:
Special Skills and Requirements:
- Handyman or tradesman skills are preferred.
- Familiarity with cleaning products and equipment, with a willingness to learn effective cleaning techniques.
- Experience operating manual and power tools safely.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Valid Driver's License that meets organizational insurance criteria.
- Capability to operate a 12-passenger van.
