Role Summary: The Surgical Technologist plays a vital role in the Operating Room by employing aseptic techniques and prioritizing the needs of surgical patients. This position is integral to the surgical care team, contributing to a comprehensive surgical care plan for assigned patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate fundamental case preparation by selecting and organizing necessary equipment and supplies using preference cards.
  • Identify and utilize essential surgical instruments and supplies, ensuring proper reprocessing methods are followed.
  • Prepare for the scrub role and manage surgical instrument supplies effectively.
  • Execute basic postoperative responsibilities, including preparing patients for recovery transit and ensuring the proper handling of surgical specimens.
  • Conduct thorough surgical counts and initiate the cleaning process of the Operating Room.

Position Requirements:

Minimum Education:

High School Diploma with relevant training acquired through experience or education. Preferred: Associate's Degree in Surgical Technology.

Experience:

Required: Less than one year of job-related experience. Preferred: 1-2 years of relevant experience.

Licensure/Certifications:

Required: CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation). Preferred: Certified Surgical Technologist.
