Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at the New York State Office of Children and Family Services. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing a variety of routine, semiskilled maintenance, repairs, installation, and construction tasks in one or a combination of mechanical, building, motor equipment, and electrical trades.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including repairs, installations, and construction projects
  • Work with a variety of mechanical, building, motor equipment, and electrical systems
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and equipment to complete tasks
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and technical manuals
  • Work independently and as part of a team to complete projects
Requirements
  • Two years of experience in maintenance or mechanical work under the supervision of a skilled trades-worker or completion of an appropriate two-year technical school course
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
  • Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and materials
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
Working Conditions

This position requires working in a fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines and changing priorities. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team to complete projects.
