About the Role

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to join our team in Stockton, California.

Job Summary

As an MRI Technologist, you will operate magnetic resonance imaging equipment to produce high-quality images of patients' bodies for diagnostic purposes. You will work under the direction of the Chief of Radiology and the Imaging Services Director, utilizing your expertise and judgment to ensure optimal diagnostic quality and patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform patient studies according to established protocols, including placing coils close to areas of interest.
  • Operate imaging and other equipment devices to provide high-quality diagnostic services, including adjusting transmitters and receivers, and keying in data on keyboards.
  • Interview patients to explain MRI procedures, addressing their concerns and exhibiting tact, courtesy, and poise when interacting with patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Ensure patient and staff safety, including explaining safety protocols, requesting removal of hazardous metal objects, and monitoring patients via closed-circuit TV.
  • Orient new hires and train MRI Technologists, students, and trainees in MRI procedures.
  • Train MRI Technologists I in MRI procedures and may be required to direct, check, and train other MRI employees in the absence of the MRI Supervising Technologist.
Requirements
  • Minimum two years of continuous recent experience as a MRI Technologist, with proficiency in all duties required of a MRI Technologist II.
  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Radiologic Technologist Certificate (California).
  • Certified Radiologic Technologist - Venipuncture Certificate (California) within six months of hire.
  • Basic Life Support.
Preferred Qualifications
  • ARRT certification.
