Job Summary:


The Data Scientist position at Arkansas State University is a key role in supporting the university's research initiatives. The successful candidate will work closely with researchers to develop and implement complex scientific modeling applications, apply advanced computational modeling and data analytics, and create executable programs for public use.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Design and develop scientific modeling applications to automate atmospheric gas emissions in agriculture
  • Apply advanced computational modeling, data analytics, and machine learning to estimate C footprint in irrigated crops
  • Refine software for calculation and modeling of greenhouse gas emissions from agronomic crops
  • Conduct data analysis and inferential statistics to learn about the utility of GHG software to public users
  • Create and maintain a website of the model

Requirements:



  • Expert in C/C++, Python, JavaScript, and proficient in data science and visualization tools
  • Knowledge of artificial intelligence and machine learning, GIS image analysis, and web mapping tools
  • Ability to work in a remote environment with regular and reliable attendance
