The 3 West unit is dedicated to delivering exceptional patient and family-centered care, primarily serving individuals with medical and surgical needs. Our focus includes conditions affecting the gastrointestinal system, such as bowel resections, bariatric surgeries, abdominal discomfort, GI bleeding, and urological issues. Role Responsibilities
The Patient Care Assistant will:
- Deliver care to patients in accordance with established care plans, unit protocols, and hospital policies under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- Ensure safe transportation of patients using wheelchairs or stretchers, along with appropriate documentation of services rendered.
- Provide constant observation for patients requiring close monitoring, either in-person or through remote video surveillance, to enhance their safety.
- Perform general clerical and receptionist duties to support the efficient operation of the nursing unit.
- Document all care provided in the electronic medical record system.

Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Prior experience in a hospital or nursing home setting is preferred.
- Certification in Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is mandatory.
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification is preferred.
- Effective communication skills and accurate documentation abilities are essential.
- Capability to interact efficiently with a diverse range of individuals.
- Familiarity with basic medical terminology is advantageous.
- Basic computer skills are preferred.
- Physical ability to assist in moving or lifting patients and equipment.
