The Maintenance Supervisor is a key member of the Homestead of La Vista team, responsible for ensuring the Community's physical structure, equipment, and grounds are well-maintained and safe for residents and staff. This role reports directly to the Executive Director and is a critical part of our operations team.
Key Responsibilities:- Comply with all Community policies, procedures, and regulations, including safety and corporate policies.
- Report any allegations of resident abuse or neglect to the Executive Director, RCC, or Unit Manager immediately.
- Treat all residents, family members, visitors, and team members with respect and dignity.
- Maintain the confidentiality of all resident and family information.
- Ensure timely and regular attendance and adherence to scheduled work hours.
- Maintain the Community grounds in an orderly fashion, free from hazards, debris, and clutter, and ensure sidewalks and drives are clear and in good repair.
- Be responsible for maintaining the building, including painting, replacing worn or stained tiles, repairing furniture, locks, baseboards, trim, windows, and other equipment.
- Ensure the electrical system and all electrical appliances are in good working condition.
- Verify that all plumbing is in working order and in good repair.
- Organize fire drills and ensure all fire safety equipment is in working order and inspected regularly.
- Maintain all Community equipment, including washers, dryers, boilers, air conditioners, furnaces, and lawn mowers.
- May be required to assist staff in moving residents and furniture.
- Ensure 24-hour availability of service for maintenance emergencies.
- Ensure personal and staff compliance with all State and Federal regulations, including bloodborne pathogens, infection control, hazardous materials, fire safety, and building, electric, and plumbing codes.
- Ensure personal and staff compliance with Residents' Rights.
- Be responsible for staffing the maintenance department, following facility policies when hiring, orienting, and disciplining employees.
- Maintain and keep accurate accounting for all budgets assigned, and inform the property manager prior to spending monies in excess of the budget.
