Position Overview
The Cardiology Sonographer at Stony Brook University plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional clinical services to our diverse patient population. Candidates must exhibit exemplary patient care skills and possess strong communication abilities while upholding our commitment to excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Under the guidance of the Technical Director of Echocardiography, the Cardiology Sonographer will execute and assist in various echocardiographic assessments on adult patients, utilizing standard techniques such as 2D, color flow, Doppler, and M-Mode as necessary. Proficiency in these echocardiographic methods is essential.
- Document charges for performed examinations.
- Input patient information and measurements into the reporting system.
- Serve as a clinical resource and mentor for new personnel and students.
- Participate in designated committees of the nursing, administrative, and medical staff as appointed by the Nurse Manager of Non-Invasive Cardiology.
Qualifications
Essential: Graduation from an accredited diagnostic ultrasound program. Must be a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer or eligible for registration.
Desirable: At least one year of experience in Cardiac Ultrasound. Registration as a Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer or eligibility for registration is preferred.

Compensation Overview:
The anticipated salary range for this position is between $41.00/hr and $49.00/hr. This range reflects Stony Brook University's good faith estimate of the compensation range at the time of posting.
