The plasma collected is vital for creating life-saving therapies for individuals with rare and complex medical conditions.

About the Role:

Every day, the donors you encounter will inspire you. The high-quality plasma you collect will contribute to life-changing medications. A strong commitment to customer service and quality is essential. Responsibilities include determining donor eligibility, managing donor reactions, reviewing laboratory test results, and notifying donors of any unsuitable test outcomes. The Medical Support Nurse operates under the guidance of the Center Manager for operational matters and under the supervision of the Center Physician for medical concerns. Familiarity with plasma collection regulations and industry standards is required.

Your Contributions:

  • Assess donor eligibility, including informed consent, medical history interviews, physical examinations, and blood testing.
  • Evaluate donor reactions and follow standard operating procedures for medical emergencies.
  • Consult with the Center Physician or Medical Affairs regarding any unacceptable findings or medical issues.
  • Support vaccination programs for employees as necessary.
  • Manage employee incidents and determine if further evaluation is needed.
  • Act as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized and assist with investigations related to public health threats.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, including completion of a recognized nursing program that meets state requirements.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA) in the state of practice.
  • Current certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED.
  • Meet state requirements for basic IV therapy.
  • Complete FDA-approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialists.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
