Position Summary

The Electrical Estimator will be responsible for:
  • Setting clear deadlines, delegating tasks, monitoring deliverables, and resolving any issues that may arise during the project lifecycle.
  • Preparing comprehensive cost estimates by meticulously analyzing plans and specifications, and performing quantity take-offs.
  • Developing and preparing conceptual estimates with minimal assistance from vendors or subcontractors, utilizing limited preliminary design documents.
  • Engaging vendors and subcontractors in project interests and managing the RFP process effectively.
  • Evaluating and standardizing subcontractor proposals in accordance with project requirements.
  • Creating detailed bid packages and ensuring all content is accurate and aligns with client specifications.
  • Identifying risks, opportunities, and gaps in bids, providing actionable recommendations and solutions.
  • Coordinating input from subject matter experts, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality work.
  • Drafting and refining various sections of the bid, including executive summaries and technical proposals, ensuring alignment with client expectations.
  • Designing and producing professional bid documents using appropriate tools and templates.
  • Maintaining positive relationships with clients and external partners, effectively managing any conflicts or feedback.
  • Generating innovative ideas and solutions to enhance bid content and presentation.
  • Estimating timeframes for project completion, considering labor, materials, budgets, and potential setbacks.
  • Compiling reports and presenting suggestions for future projects to leadership.
  • Estimating new and retrofit construction measures for various projects.
  • Reviewing plans and specifications to address RFIs and resolve conflicts.
  • Ensuring compliance with LEED specifications on products as per customer preferences.
  • Continuously marketing the company and seeking opportunities for business growth.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in the Washington D.C. market is preferred.
  • Federal market experience is advantageous.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of electrical estimating experience is required.
  • Experience with projects ranging from $100,000 to $5 million.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain government clearance.
