Job Title: CTY Educator - Data and Chance

We are seeking a highly qualified educator to join our team as a CTY Educator - Data and Chance. This is a unique opportunity to work with advanced learners and develop engaging academic experiences that foster a fun peer community.

Job Summary:

The CTY Educator - Data and Chance will be responsible for planning and delivering academic experiences for advanced learners in the areas of statistics and probability. The ideal candidate will have expertise in these subjects and be able to create rigorous and engaging courses that feature facilitated learning over direct instruction.

Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver academic experiences for advanced learners in statistics and probability
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that are aligned with the course guide and learning objectives
  • Provide students with ongoing, meaningful, and individualized feedback on their work
  • Administer pre- and post-tests as required
  • Complete an end-of-course evaluation for each student
  • Assign grades according to established rubrics
  • Employ effective strategies for positive discipline and classroom management
  • Establish classroom norms and communicate expectations for student conduct
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college/university
  • At least two years of teaching or tutoring experience
  • Advanced knowledge of statistics and probability
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prepare lesson plans and audio-visual aids per the agreed-upon course syllabus
  • Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in a relevant field
  • Experience working with advanced learners or course work/training in gifted education
  • Experience teaching science to elementary or middle school students
