Job Summary

As a Diesel Mechanic at WM, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our fleet. Under general supervision, you will perform preventive maintenance services, inspect, diagnose, and repair vehicles and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform repairs and assigned preventive maintenance services in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on vehicles and equipment.
  • Utilize vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes and initiate or assign repairs.
  • Estimate time and material costs on vehicle repairs and requisition new parts as needed.
  • Perform all work within Standard Repair Times (SRTs) and conduct safety checks on vehicles.
  • Complete required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
  • Assist senior Mechanics in the completion of project work and review, complete, or assign repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
Requirements
  • Two (2) years of relevant work experience in a similar role.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Successfully complete and pass pre-employment drug screen and physical.
Work Environment

As a Diesel Mechanic at WM, you will work in a repair/maintenance shop environment, exposed to physical occupational risks and physical environment elements. You will be required to use motor coordination with finger dexterity and exert physical effort in handling objects less than 50 pounds.
