At Interstate Waste Services, Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fleet Maintenance Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of our fleet of vehicles and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise a team of technicians and welders to ensure that all repair and maintenance work is performed in a safe, efficient, and timely manner.
- Provide direction and guidance to technicians and welders to ensure that all work is completed to the highest standards.
- Conduct daily shop huddles and yard checks to ensure that all work is progressing as planned.
- Coach and counsel technicians and welders to improve their performance and address any issues or concerns.
- Perform inspections of outside repairs to ensure that all work is properly completed in accordance with company safety and compliance procedures and federal and state regulations.
- Identify training opportunities and document issues and constructively discuss corrective action with technicians and welders.
- Conduct quality control inspections to ensure that all work is properly completed in accordance with company safety and compliance procedures and federal and state regulations.
- Oversee repair diagnostics on more complex matters and provide coaching and guidance as needed.
- Maintain advanced knowledge of engine, emission systems, transmission, brake, hydraulic, and electrical systems to perform advanced preventive and repair maintenance functions on equipment and vehicles.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience as a supervisor or foreman/team lead.
- Must have experience with electrical, air brakes, medium and heavy-duty diesel engines, and computer-aided diagnostics.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with Spanish bilingual strongly preferred.
- Advanced experience working with fleet management and onboard computing software.
- Strong knowledge of DOT CMV rules, OSHA, and other federal and local regulations and requirements.
- Valid driver's license required, CDL preferred.
What We Offer:
At Interstate Waste Services, Inc., we offer a competitive salary range of $80,000 to $95,000 per year, depending on experience. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
