Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Transportation Specialist to join our team at Linwood Center. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing transportation services to adults with developmental disabilities, conducting daily vehicle inspections, and maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide transportation services to Linwood Adults as assigned.
  • Conduct daily visual inspections and report any vehicle damage.
  • Maintain detailed records for all of Linwood Center vehicles.
  • Assist with the planning and assignment of transportation routes for the Adult Program.
  • Perform vehicle checks twice a week.
  • Keep the Vehicle Log organized, up to date in conjunction with the facilities manager.
  • Attend weekly meetings with the Red Branch Leadership Team.
  • Ensure Red Branch vans have appropriate gas levels at all times.
  • Utilize the Enterprise Database for up to date vehicle maintenance checks.
  • Keep a daily log of each vehicle and report any maintenance or other issues.
  • Use technology for the completion of specified job duties.
  • Learns and properly utilizes Linwood's Data Management System (CIMS) for maintaining accurate records and permitting accurate billing with DDA.
Requirements
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record as determined by criteria established by the Agency's insurance carrier and by Agency policy.
  • Must have knowledge of vehicles.
  • Must be able to pass the physical and academic portions of the behavior support and intervention training.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office.

  • Ability to meet deadlines required by regulation and by Linwood.
  • To demonstrate interest and ability to address the developmental and social-emotional needs of adults with developmental disabilities.

  • To be flexible enough to work cooperatively with other staff in addressing individuals' physical, social-emotional, and behavioral needs.
  • To demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of Linwood's philosophy and the ability to teach Linwood's methods and philosophy to others.
  • To engage professionally with Linwood staff, parents, school system personnel, and other professionals.
  • To demonstrate an understanding of fundamental rights and self-determination and assure that the individuals to whom he/she provides support be afforded these rights.
  • To follow written, oral instructions and procedures.
