About the Job

We are seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at the Virginia Department of Human Resource Management. As a Registered Nurse (Part-Time/Night Shift), you will provide medical care to adult inmates at the Lunenburg Correctional Center.

Responsibilities
  1. Deliver nursing care to adult inmates, adhering to established standards and protocols.
  2. Document all relevant information in the health record, maintaining confidentiality and collaborating with other departments as needed.
  3. Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Valid unrestricted Virginia RN license (recent graduates: NCLEX-RN Exam must be scheduled).
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from American. Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC).
Benefits

This is a wage position with limited hours (no more than 1,500 hours per agency in 12 months). The wage employment period resets annually. All wage employees are limited to working 29 hours/week on average over 12 months. No state benefits are offered.
