Shop Mechanic

Job Summary:

Pafford EMS is seeking a skilled Shop Mechanic to join our team. As a Shop Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing front-line mechanical inspections, preventive maintenance, and electrical repairs on both diesel and gasoline vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform front-line mechanical inspections, preventive maintenance, and electrical repairs on both diesel and gasoline vehicles.
• Respond to vehicle breakdowns in the field when requested.
• Assist other mechanics as needed.
• Assist in the development of new maintenance programs.
• Operate company vehicles in accordance with company policy and safe driving practices.
• Complete all required vehicle repair and maintenance paperwork and documentation neatly, correctly, and timely.
• Attend all mandatory training and meetings.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by the Lead Mechanic or Operations Manager.

Requirements:

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent education.
• Must have 2 years of verifiable experience as a Class C Mechanic, automotive knowledge, and skills necessary to perform maintenance and repairs on company vehicles.
• Must have a current and valid driver's license.
• Must have a full set of personal tools.
• If current employee, must obtain a recommendation from current supervisor.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, work with limited supervision, and as a team member.
• Ability to exercise good judgment, discretion, and confidentiality regarding sensitive matters.
• Ability to read, interpret, and follow instructions presented in various documents and manuals.
• Ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the job.
• Regular and predictable attendance.
• EVOC.
• CPR Certification.
