Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

YOUR MISSION:
Lead the full software lifecycle development focused on Functional Safety, ensuring that all deliverables meet the defined scope, budget, schedule, and quality benchmarks for Panasonic's automotive software products. You will provide guidance to both onshore and offshore teams in feature development, defect resolution, and unit testing.

A DAY IN THE LIFE:

  • Facilitate and/or engage in collaborative meetings with Panasonic, suppliers, and clients to conduct design reviews and monitor project progress, while keeping the team and management informed about development activities, timelines, costs, budget forecasts, challenges, and risks.
  • Coordinate software development efforts related to Functional Safety with the Functional Safety manager, software architects, and other engineering teams, ensuring timely and high-quality deliverables for infotainment projects.
  • Oversee software project planning, execution, monitoring, launch, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of ISO26262 standards, processes, and tools related to Automotive Functional Safety.
  • Review functional safety requirements for automotive systems, assess feasibility, and resolve any outstanding specification issues in collaboration with systems engineering and/or OEMs.
  • Work closely with the Functional Safety manager to convert system safety requirements into software-specific functional safety requirements, utilizing appropriate tools.
  • Translate technical reference manuals for automotive infotainment products into actionable software functional safety interfaces.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to assess functional safety requirements and develop necessary interfaces.
  • Evaluate new software releases from suppliers to ensure compliance with acceptance criteria.

MUST-HAVES:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) and a minimum of five years of relevant experience; or at least ten years of comprehensive embedded software development experience in electronic products.
  • At least two years of experience leading a team of software engineers within a formal development framework such as Agile, Waterfall, Scrum, or Extreme Programming.
  • Proficiency in designing, developing, and debugging functional safety software in real-time embedded environments.
  • Familiarity with integration frameworks using tools such as Rhapsody, Enterprise Architect, BOUML, or other UML modeling tools.
  • Experience with high-end embedded Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) like Linux and Android.
  • Knowledge of Software Configuration Management (SCM) systems.
  • Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes.
  • Experience with ISO26262 Automotive Functional Safety standards, processes, and tools.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Windows-based databases.
