**Job Summary**

We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Professional to join our team at the Alabama Department of Education. In this role, you will be responsible for transporting students safely and efficiently to and from school.

**Job Responsibilities**

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  1. Transporting students safely and efficiently to and from school;
  2. Maintaining accurate records of student attendance and transportation;
  3. Developing and implementing effective safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries;
  4. Collaborating with teachers and school administrators to ensure that students receive the support they need to succeed; and
  5. Providing excellent customer service to students, parents, and staff.

**Requirements**

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  1. A valid Alabama Driver's license and insurable driving record;
  2. A Commercial Drivers License with required endorsements and school bus driver's certification;
  3. Experience operating school buses desired;
  4. Completion of re-certification and training activities as required;
  5. Meet and follow the health and drug screening requirements as prescribed by the State Department of Transportation;
  6. Cleared background check through FBI and ABI processes;
  7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  9. Physical stamina to perform job duties;
  10. Knowledge of traffic laws and regulations;
  11. Ability to learn and adapt to new situations and technologies;
  12. Basic computer skills and proficiency in software applications.
