Job Summary

Take your nursing career to new heights as a Registered Nurse on our Life Flight team. Provide exceptional patient care and follow established protocols and standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide nursing care from initial contact to patient care relinquishment to accepting medical facilities.
  • Maintain thorough patient care documentation in the Electronic Medical Record.
  • Practice nursing within scope of practice as defined by state and Geisinger, maintaining competency in knowledge and psychomotor skills.
  • Communicate educational needs to Life Flight clinical leadership team, Operations Manager, or Medical Director.
  • Remain knowledgeable in use and routine maintenance of all equipment and supplies used by Life Flight.
  • Maintain medical interior of Life Flight aircraft and ground ambulances.
  • Assure adequate inventory of equipment and supplies.
  • Assure orderly environment in Hangar and Elevator Glasshouse areas as well as assigned Life Flight base.
  • Function as a flight crew member, assisting the pilot as needed.
  • Participate in required patient safety education programs and other activities designed to improve departmental and organizational safety.
  • Provide input to clinical management team for performance appraisals of care delivery team members.
  • Problem solve, troubleshoot, and take corrective measures in care and handling of equipment.
Requirements
  • Graduate from Specialty Training Program-Nursing (Required)
  • Minimum of 3 years-Nursing (Required)
  • Licensed Registered Nurse (Pennsylvania) - RN_State of Pennsylvania; Valid Driver's License - Default Issuing Body; Basic Life Support Certification - Default Issuing Body
