Job Summary

Total Safety U.S., Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Rescue Specialist to join our team of safety professionals. As a Rescue Specialist, you will be responsible for providing technical rescue standby for customer projects, including confined space rescue and technical rope rescue, as well as first aid and CPR.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess Risks and Plan Safe Solutions: Assist in assessing potential hazards and draft a Confined Space Rescue Preplan and a Rescue Safety Analysis (RSA) to ensure safe working practices in compliance with client standards.
  • Conduct Rescue Operations: Locate patients, assess injuries, package for extrication, and remove patients from threatening environments, turning them over to EMS for medical attention and transport.
  • Monitor Job Conditions and Equipment: Perform daily job briefings with customers and workers, conduct ongoing monitoring of job conditions and equipment resources, and report observations and recommendations to supervisors to ensure worker and team safety.
  • Maintain Rescue Equipment: Follow handling, inspection, cleaning, and preventative maintenance guidelines for all rescue equipment to ensure it is in a constant state of readiness.
Requirements
  • 40 Hour Rescue Technician Certification: Possess a 40-hour rescue technician certification with more than 6 months of experience.
  • Confined Space Entrant/Attendant Certification: Hold a confined space entrant/attendant certification.
  • CPR/First Aid with AED Certification: Possess a CPR/first aid with AED certification.
  • First Responder or Better: Have a first responder or better certification.
  • Haz-whopper and 4 Gas Monitor Operation Training: Possess haz-whopper and 4 gas monitor operation training.
  • Familiarity with OSHA Atmosphere Limitation: Be familiar with OSHA atmosphere limitation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proven Proficiency in Rescue Operations: Possess proven proficiency in rescue operations.
