About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team in St. Louis, MO, Belleville, IL, or Springfield, IL. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for various building types, including healthcare, commercial, industrial, and educational facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare accurate construction drawings, specifications, and calculations for HVAC, plumbing, and specialty piping systems.
  • Perform construction administration, including submittal reviews and project revisions during construction.
  • Develop preliminary schematics through final designs for projects, including equipment selection and layouts.
  • Assume responsibility for code research and application, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Interface with clients, contractors, and other disciplines to lead projects to successful completion.
  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and coordination of the production staff.
  • Assist in maintaining project design budgets and schedules while pursuing quality results.
  • Perform quality control reviews of HVAC and plumbing design work done by others.
  • Assist in business development activities, including writing fee proposals and conducting project scoping walks with potential clients.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering.
  • 10+ years of professional experience in HVAC and plumbing design for buildings.
  • A Professional Engineering License (PE) is required.
  • Prior management or mentoring of staff required.
  • Design experience relative to medium/large commercial and institutional facilities.
  • Strong familiarity with Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with Carrier HAP, Trane Trace, or similar.
  • Strong and communicative team player in a multi-disciplinary environment, able to fully lead projects from start to finish.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to contribute to several projects simultaneously.
