About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team at Heartland Automotive LLC. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to take on a challenging role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our products.

Job Description:

  • Develop and execute test plans to ensure product quality and reliability.
  • Analyze data, identify trends, and implement corrective actions to improve quality.
  • Maintain accurate records of testing results and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and company requirements.

Responsibilities:

  1. Perform and supervise monitoring and product validation testing for prototype and mass-production products.
  2. Ensure the development and implementation of effective Work Instructions for laboratory work tasks.
  3. Clearly communicate any failed test results to the Manager, Team Leader, and Process Tech of the appropriate areas for problem resolution.
  4. Maintain a Quarterly Testing Schedule to ensure fulfillment of customer testing requirements.
  5. Maintain a budget for the testing department, with attention to needed supplies and repairs.
  6. Coordinate with production management to ensure availability of test parts as needed.
  7. Assist New Model QEs in performing part measurements on Check Fixtures, if needed.
  8. Assist in color and grain evaluations of parts, if needed.
  9. Participate in (and lead) 5s and continuous improvement activities of various types, as opportunities arise.
  10. This position has the responsibility and authority to stop production or shipment in the event of nonconformity.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • 4 years of Quality-focused experience in an automotive manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent time-management and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated and independent, with the ability to work well with others in a team environment.
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to read part drawings and specifications and summarize technical information.
  • Ability to use basic hand gauges including calipers, micrometers, and taper and step gauges.
  • Ability to understand, operate, and troubleshoot various laboratory testing equipment.
  • MS Office Suite computer proficiency.
  • Experience in an ISO 9001 / IATF 16949-certified injection molding environment is desirable.

Salary Range: $70,000 - $100,000 per year, depending on experience.
