Damage Control Systems Expert for U.S. Navy Operations

Job Overview

This position is a high-priority opportunity to utilize your expertise in damage control systems and operations to support U.S. Navy operations.

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per yearKey Responsibilities
  • Provide technical expertise in shipboard damage control systems, readiness evaluations, and associated administrative programs
  • Oversee damage control administrative programs such as Gas Free Engineering, AFFF Quantab, and DC Closure
  • Conduct readiness evaluations based on the Surface Force Training and Readiness Manual (SFTRM), particularly Chapter 6
  • Support INSURV inspections, including Master Event Lists, Workbook deliverables, and inspection guides (IIG)
  • Apply detailed knowledge of Material Maintenance Management (3M) and the Planned Maintenance System (PMS)
  • Utilize the Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual (JFMM) for Equipment Operational Capability (EOC) definitions and scoring
  • Frequent travel (up to 50%) and embark U.S. Naval vessels for extended periods required
Requirements
  • Engineering-focused experience as Damage Control Assistant (DCA) or LCPO of a shipboard DC organization
  • Minimum of 20 years of hands-on shipboard damage control engineering experience
  • Recent (within the last 5 years) shipboard DC engineering experience
  • At least three (3) at-sea tours in a DC capacity
  • NEC 4811 (DCA/Senior Damage Controlman) qualification
  • Proficient in administrative programs and support systems related to damage control
  • Working knowledge of SFTRM Chapter 6 readiness evaluations, INSURV publications, and JFMM Volume 6 scoring
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Physically capable of climbing ladders and staying aboard Naval vessels for consecutive days
