Medical Records Specialist

Ruhmann Law Firm seeks a skilled Medical Records Clerk to support the organization and maintenance of patient records. This role is ideal for individuals with experience in medical terminology, administrative processes, and information management programs.
As a Medical Records Clerk, you will be responsible for collecting patient information, processing patient admissions, and ensuring the confidentiality of all patient medical records and information. You will also provide hospital departments with necessary documents and forms, and maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience as a Medical Records Clerk or in a similar role, knowledge of medical terminology, and familiarity with information management programs, Microsoft Office, and other computer programs. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills are essential for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect and process patient information, including demographic data, medical history, and treatment plans
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including electronic health records (EHRs)
- Ensure confidentiality and security of patient medical records and information
- Provide hospital departments with necessary documents and forms, such as consent forms and medical releases
- Process patient admissions and discharge records, including verifying insurance coverage and benefits
Estimated Salary: $45,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on location and experience
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Medical Records Clerk or in a similar role
- Knowledge of medical terminology, including anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology
- Familiarity with information management programs, Microsoft Office, and other computer programs
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills
