Job Summary

This role is responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered care to critically ill neonates and infants in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) will work collaboratively with the medical team to develop and implement individualized care plans, conduct thorough assessments, and provide education to patients and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to critically ill neonates and infants, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
  • Collaborate with the medical team to develop and implement individualized care plans, ensuring comprehensive and coordinated care.
  • Conduct thorough assessments, including physical examinations, laboratory results, and other diagnostic tests, to inform care decisions.
  • Provide education to patients and families on neonatal care, disease management, and self-care techniques.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and improve care processes.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree.
  • Current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license in the state of practice.
  • Certification as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) through the National Certification Corporation (NCC).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, prioritizing multiple tasks and responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
