About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will provide technical support to end-users on various IT-related issues.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support in solving routine user hardware and software problems or questions
  • Install, configure, test, maintain, tune, administer, document, and resolve problems on file workstations, network, peripherals, and specialized audio visual equipment
  • Participate in and co-lead help desk activities at remote project sites
  • Respond to end-users' questions and inquiries via telephone, email, web, and other communication methods
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A high school diploma and relevant experience
  • Knowledge of advanced network and server design; network administration practices and procedures; microcomputer and network hardware and software
  • Experience managing projects
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • Extensive knowledge of or Certification in networking technology and devices
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $65,000 - $85,000 annually, depending on experience. Additionally, eligible employees may enroll in health insurance, which includes prescription coverage and wellness benefits. Other available insurance benefits include dental, vision, term life insurance, long term disability, and flexible spending accounts for health and child care expenses.

State employees also enjoy retirement plan options, including defined benefit and defined contribution plans. Furthermore, eligible employees may elect to participate in the South Carolina Deferred Compensation Program, which offers 401(k) and 457 plan options. Tuition assistance, holiday, annual, and sick leave are also available to state employees.
