Position Overview

The Radiologic Technologist is accountable for the following responsibilities:


• Producing high-quality X-ray images in accordance with established protocols in an efficient and precise manner.


• Documenting patient encounters accurately and promptly in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).

Key Responsibilities

(Including duties as outlined in the Radiology Technologist and Scribes Scope of Practice)


• Conducting standard X-ray examinations within the recommended timeframes:

Chest X-ray: 3 minutes Extremity X-ray: 3-5 minutes per order Spinal X-ray: 4-6 minutes Abdomen X-ray: 4-6 minutes


• Utilizing internal X-ray and care coordination software to accurately document and relay X-ray studies between providers, Aftercare, and radiologists.


• Efficiently documenting multiple patient encounters per hour in the EMR.


• Coordinating necessary diagnostic tests (e.g., CT, MRI, ultrasounds) and referrals to specialists for follow-up care.


• Assisting physicians with medical procedures within the Scribe scope of practice, including EKGs and procedural setups.


• Engaging with patients, pharmacies, and physicians via phone under physician supervision.


• Supporting licensed practitioners with CLIA waived tests and EKGs, ensuring proper patient positioning.


• Monitoring supplies needed for imaging and notifying relevant staff before depletion.


• Maintaining an up-to-date Quality Assurance log, including pregnancy forms and daily checklists.


• Knowing whom to contact in case of equipment malfunctions or software issues.


• Delivering compassionate care to patients.


• Assisting Medical Assistants with inventory management as needed.


• Aiding in the training and onboarding of new X-ray technologists and scribes.

Qualifications


• For internal candidates, must maintain good performance and adherence to company policies.


• Graduation from an accredited X-ray Technologist program.


• 4-6 months of experience as a Radiologic Technologist.


• Ability to explain procedures, position patients for X-rays, and adjust equipment as necessary. Understanding patient needs based on physician instructions.


• Proficient in using beam-restricting devices and patient shielding techniques to minimize radiation exposure.


• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.


• High attention to detail and ability to work independently.


• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.


• Familiarity with various computer systems.


• Positive attitude and ability to foster a supportive environment.


• Passion for delivering exceptional results and compassionate care.


• Strong communication skills and bedside manner.


• Commitment to helping others in a healthcare setting.


• Bilingual skills preferred based on location.

Physical Requirements

The role may involve lifting light to moderate weights (e.g., medical supplies). Significant computer usage is required.
