Job Overview

Position Title: Wastewater Collections Operator

Company: Old North State Water Co, Inc

We are seeking a committed individual to become part of our team as a Wastewater Collections Operator 1. In this capacity, you will be tasked with a variety of responsibilities related to the upkeep and operation of our wastewater collection infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine evaluations of wastewater collection pipelines and facilities to detect leaks, clogs, or other concerns
  • Employ specialized tools such as sewer inspection cameras and jetting equipment to resolve blockages in collection systems
  • Oversee and maintain lift stations and pumping facilities to ensure they operate efficiently
  • Assist in the repair and replacement of damaged elements within the collection network
  • Act swiftly in emergency situations to avert overflows or spills
  • Keep precise daily logs of activities and communicate any issues to supervisors
  • Follow safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license
  • Able to work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with tools used in wastewater collection
  • Detail-oriented with the capability to adhere to instructions
  • Availability for a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
  • Able to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks
  • Previous experience in wastewater collection operations is advantageous

The compensation will be determined based on experience in wastewater or collection systems.
