Position Overview:
We are in search of dedicated Residential Care Providers who are prepared to welcome a young adult male into their home, who requires assistance with independent living and prefers not to reside in a group environment. Providers will integrate individuals with developmental disabilities into their households, offering them a private living space along with personalized support and daily care. You will have the opportunity to positively impact the life of someone facing significant medical or behavioral challenges, as they become a valued member of your family. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with personal care needs, including hygiene, meal preparation, and dressing.
- Provide employment guidance to help clients secure job opportunities.
- Facilitate various recreational activities to promote social skills.
- Involve clients in family activities and daily life.
- Accompany clients to various locations such as grocery stores, museums, parks, and community events.
- Offer transportation support as necessary.
- Assist with medical appointments and medication management.
- Maintain documentation of client progress and medical records.
- Deliver training on essential life skills.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Required).
- No children residing in the home.
- Must pass criminal and motor vehicle background checks.
- Completion of training in Medication Administration, CPR/First Aid, and ongoing training requirements.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience as a residential care provider.
- Preferably have a wheelchair-accessible home with a roll-in shower.
- Experience with behavioral and medical needs is preferred (e.g., CNAs, LPNs, RNs).
