Electrical Manufacturing Technician

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Manufacturing Technician - 2nd Shift to join our team at Electric Machinery Company LLC, a division of WEG. This role involves assembling laminated subassemblies for stator winding, pole winding, exciter winding, and rotor assembly. As a vital member of the Lamination Team, you will contribute to achieving manufacturing excellence through collaborative efforts.
In this position, you will be responsible for setting up and operating various machining equipment, such as milling, drill, taping, cutting, and precision grinding machines. Additionally, you will perform tasks that involve stacking laminations, placing followers, driving rivets, driving cage and damper bars, pressing laminations, and using fixtures as necessary. To excel in this role, you must have a strong understanding of electrical manufacturing processes and be able to read prints and routing information to determine sequence and method of manufacturing.
Main Responsibilities:
- Assemble spider, field poles, armature cores, and rotors, including stacking, shrink fitting, grinding, welding, filling, pressing, and torqueing.
- Set up and operate various machining equipment to perform milling, drilling, tapping, cutting, and precision grinding.
- Stack laminations, place followers, drive rivets, drive cage and damper bars, press laminations, and use fixtures as necessary.
- Read prints and routing information to determine sequence and method of manufacturing.
- Maintain inventory of shelf life materials in stacking area.
Requirements:
- High School degree or equivalent (preferred) with 1 year of related manufacturing experience (preferred).
- Ability to obtain basic welding certificate.
- Ability to perform basic math such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to be certified in overhead crane, Jib crane, and forklift operation.
Benefits:
- Estimated salary range: $40,000 - $60,000 per year.
- Voluntary weekend overtime with pay types including time and a half on Saturdays and double time on Sundays.
- Monday – Friday, 2nd shift 3:30 p.m. – 12:00 a.m., full-time (Union).
