Head Lifeguard

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Lifeguard to join our team at Teton County. As a key member of our recreation department, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of our patrons in the public pool and adjoining areas.

• Monitor pool activities to prevent accidents and incidents, and respond to emergencies in a timely and effective manner.
• Supervise and direct Lifeguards and Slide Attendants, providing guidance and support as needed.
• Administer first aid and CPR as required, and maintain a safe and healthy environment for patrons.
• Check and adjust pool chemistry, and assist with systems repairs and maintenance as needed.
• Provide excellent customer service and respond to patron inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.

• High school diploma or equivalent required; 3+ years of experience as a lifeguard, preferably with supervisory experience.
• Lifeguard Certification, CPR/First Aid Certification, Water Safety Instructor Certification, and Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification required.
• Strong knowledge of pool equipment and maintenance, swimming pool sanitation and chlorine systems, lifesaving methods and procedures, and safety rules and regulations.

Work is performed in a public pool area, requiring standing, sitting, and physical efforts when attempting a water rescue. May be exposed to bodily fluids while administering first aid; safety precautions must be followed, including use of safety equipment.

Required to work unsupervised in the presence of children or vulnerable adults.
