Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Assistant Senior to lead our clinical team at the University of Michigan. As a Medical Assistant Senior, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care, coordinating clinical operations, and mentoring junior staff members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical support to healthcare providers, including preparing patients for exams, collecting and processing specimens, and administering medications.
  • Coordinate clinical operations, including scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Mentor and train junior staff members, including medical assistants and students, to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide high-quality patient care.
  • Collaborate with nursing and physician staff to ensure optimal patient care and outcomes.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assistant certification or degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a medical assistant, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology, as well as basic computer skills.
