Position Overview

Role Summary:

This role encompasses all responsibilities related to the assessment, distribution, and supervision of pharmaceuticals to ensure high-quality medication services for patients, healthcare providers, and medical staff. The clinical pharmacist will enhance medication management to elevate patient health and wellness outcomes, while ensuring the availability of necessary medications and immunizations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in clinical programs and initiatives to improve patient care.
  • Support daily operations of the pharmacy department, including mentoring new personnel and pharmacy students.
  • Oversee pharmacy technicians and interns, ensuring compliance with operational standards.
  • Address customer service inquiries and resolve issues effectively.
  • Manage billing processes, maintain accurate records, and conduct monthly audits.
  • Ensure optimal pharmacy performance through inventory management and equipment maintenance.
  • Handle cash transactions accurately and perform additional duties as assigned by the department head.

Educational Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Must possess a degree from a pharmacy school accredited by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education (BS or PharmD).

Licensure and Certification:

Requirements:

  • Must be licensed as a Registered Pharmacist by the relevant Board(s) of Pharmacy.
  • Licensure in Minnesota is required for all outpatient pharmacists, unless the primary location is in Wisconsin.
  • Wisconsin licensure is necessary only if the primary work location is in Wisconsin.

If not licensed as a Registered Pharmacist upon hiring, candidates must hold a Pharmacy Intern License and/or be eligible to work as an intern, with the expectation to obtain Registered Pharmacist status within 90 days of employment:

  • In Minnesota: Must be licensed as a Pharmacy Intern through the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy.
  • In Wisconsin: Must be in the final stages of a Pharmacy program; registration is not required.
  • In North Dakota: Must be registered as a Pharmacy Intern through the North Dakota Board of Pharmacy.
  • Continuing education and license renewal as mandated by the state's Board of Pharmacy.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within one week of employment.
  • Immunization Delivery Certification is mandatory at the time of hiring.

Compensation:

Hourly Rate: $80.42
