Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled GI Assistant to join our team at Kootenai Health. As a GI Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and healthcare team.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist patients with daily living activities, such as dressing, bathing, and eating
  • Collect non-invasive body fluid specimens and gather vital signs
  • Aid physicians and nursing staff with procedures as needed
  • Document patient interactions and maintain accurate records
  • Perform a variety of tasks to support patient care and hospital operations
  • Work under general supervision and demonstrate a high level of independence and initiative
  • Meet age-specific needs of patients and provide compassionate care

Requirements and Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Current CNA registration, Certified Medical Assistant, or Surgical Technician certification required
  • Knowledge of sterile techniques and infection control practices
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to patient confidentiality
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Working Conditions:
  • Ability to lift and move up to 35 pounds
  • Ability to maintain a standing and/or sitting position for extended periods
  • Typical equipment used in a clinical setting
  • Ability to stoop, crouch, or bend as needed
  • Ability to push, pull, or transport heavy equipment
  • Ability to assist with patient transfer
