The Bellefontaine Health Center LLC is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at our skilled nursing facility in Pasadena, California. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our residents and ensuring their physical and emotional well-being.
Responsibilities- Participate in meetings and conferences to ensure effective communication and collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Maintain accurate and complete resident health records, adhering to established policies and procedures.
- Conduct daily resident rounds, evaluating resident needs and effectiveness of nursing care provided.
- Transcribe physician orders accurately and promptly, ensuring timely implementation of care plans.
- Monitor the environment and equipment for safety, reporting any necessary repairs or maintenance.
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered, maintaining a safe and accurate system of control.
- Promote good restorative nursing practices to help residents attain their highest level of function possible.
- Review resident orders with the physician monthly, ensuring timely updates and adjustments.
- Inform the physician, Director of Nursing Services, and responsible party immediately of significant changes in the resident's condition.
- Provide accurate and concise reports at change of shift, ensuring seamless communication with the healthcare team.
- Assume general operation of the facility after administrative hours, notifying the appropriate department head and Administrator in case of an emergency.
- Understand and adhere to Federal, State, and Local Regulations for skilled nursing facilities.
- Maintain good rapport and open communication with staff, physicians, families, and staff of other departments and the community at large.
- Ensure every resident is properly identified by an armband or other acceptable method.
- Report any absences or tardiness at least four hours in advance, except in emergencies.
- Observe the facility dress code and practice safe work habits.
- Respect Resident Rights at all times and maintain acceptable standards of nursing practice.
- Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
- Possesses a valid and current California RN License.
- 1-2 years experience in long-term care preferred.
- Good physical and mental health.
- Ability to perform physical requirements of the position, including lifting dead weight or unassisted weight of 40 pounds.
- Capable of following oral and written instructions.
- Training, knowledge, and experience allowing for general supervision of responsibilities.
