Job Summary:
This position is responsible for delivering professional nursing services focused on quality patient care in a clinic environment, adhering to Unavailable's standards and applicable regulatory requirements. The RN will engage in direct patient care, including assessment, coordination, triage, evaluation, and delegation of tasks to the patient care team. You will also provide education and consultation to patients, families, and staff regarding appropriate nursing interventions for optimal patient outcomes.
Work will be conducted under established safety and care standards, requiring sound judgment and critical thinking skills in patient care decisions. Continuous interaction with physicians, patients, families, and care staff is essential. The RN is accountable for the quality of care provided and has the authority to direct care and delegate tasks as necessary.
If assigned to a float pool, the RN will provide patient care services as needed to meet staffing requirements across various clinics.
Essential Duties:
- Administers professional nursing care to clinic patients, performing diagnostic tests and clinical procedures within the scope of practice.
- Independently triages nursing situations according to established protocols and addresses complex or urgent situations as they arise.
- Administers medications per provider orders and maintains accurate records of medication usage.
- Assists with point-of-care testing and laboratory tests following established guidelines.
- Documents all procedures and patient interactions in the electronic medical record accurately and in a timely manner.
- Prepares patients for examinations, including obtaining vital signs and relevant medical history.
- Maintains a clean and organized clinic environment, ensuring all supplies are stocked and equipment is sterilized.
- Demonstrates cultural sensitivity and competence in communication and care delivery.
Performs additional duties as required.
QualificationsEducation/Work Experience:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program recognized by the state nursing board.
- Preferred: One year of RN experience in a clinic setting or two years in acute care.
Licensure/Certification:
- Current RN licensure by the state nursing board.
- Current BLS certification for healthcare providers.
- If assigned to a float pool, a valid driver's license is required.
