Job Summary

The Cardiac Sonographer I position at Covenant Health (Tennessee) is a critical role in our Cardiac Diagnostics Department. As a skilled professional, you will utilize state-of-the-art technology to assist cardiologists in diagnosing congenital, structural, and disease-process cardiac issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform procedures to IAC standards and guidelines, including transthoracic, transesophageal, and stress echocardiograms.
  • Understand cross-sectional human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology to obtain optimal studies.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of basic medical terminology and competent performance of critical skills.
  • Assist in the maintenance of equipment, supplies, and imaging areas.
  • Perform ultrasound testing on patients by utilizing 2-dimensional, 3-dimensional, M-mode, spectral Doppler, color flow Doppler, speckle tracking, and other post-processing functionality.
  • Provide patients and families with procedure explanation and/or written documentation of procedure.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships inter- and intra-departmentally.
Requirements
  • Certification as a Cardiac Sonographer (CCI, ARRT, or ARDMS Registry).
  • American Heart Association BLS prior to hire.
  • None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the above-mentioned license and/or certification.
