The Animal Care Technician will deliver essential support for laboratory animals and provide technical assistance to the veterinary team and researchers at the Animal Facility within Hackensack Meridian Health.
Hackensack Meridian Health has established a robust research environment aimed at advancing scientific innovations to clinical applications, ultimately enhancing patient outcomes across various health challenges.
Since its inception, the facility has expanded significantly, now encompassing numerous laboratories and a diverse team of scientists and support staff, backed by substantial research funding.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive care for research animals.
- Assist veterinary staff in daily operations.
- Collaborate with researchers to ensure animal welfare and compliance with protocols.
Qualifications:
- Required: Associate's degree and a minimum of two years of relevant experience. Willingness to cover weekends and holidays.
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree with at least five years of relevant experience.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) or Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) or a Bachelor's degree in Animal Sciences.
- AALAS certification as a Laboratory Animal Technician (LAT) or a Bachelor's degree in Animal Sciences.
