Job Summary

Mid Michigan College is seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Allied Health Faculty to teach Clinical Procedures courses to students in a community college setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Allied Health and the ability to translate educational and professional experience into the student learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach assigned classroom courses, including Clinical Proc. I and Clinical Proc. II at the Huron Area Technical Center.
  • Develop and update syllabi for courses assigned, ensuring course content and requirements meet college and accreditation agency standards.
  • Assess student academic achievement and provide timely and meaningful feedback on progress in the course(s).
  • Maintain and report accurate classroom records, including student attendance and grades.
  • Hold regular office hours for meeting with and assisting students.
  • Maintain regular communication with Library and Learning Services staff.
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings and in-service programs within the department and college-wide.
  • Support and serve as a role model for the college's mission, vision, and student service initiatives.
  • Adhere to the objectives, policies, procedures, and compliance guidelines of the college, ensuring all communications and practices demonstrate support of the Ethics for Teaching Professionals.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Allied Health, Health Care Education, Health Administration, or a related field of study.
  • Professional certification(s) in a related field of study preferred.
  • Masters degree in Health Education instruction preferred.
  • Two years of teaching experience preferred, preferably at the college level.
  • Two years of professional experience in healthcare, including a minimum of 40 hours of experience in an ambulatory healthcare setting performing or observing administrative and clinical procedures of medical assisting.
Working Environment
  • The job responsibilities of this position are performed in a classroom environment, requiring a professional image and demeanor, on-time attendance, and reliability.
  • There may be travel to other college locations for meetings, and job duties may be performed in an independent or team atmosphere.
  • The job has intermittent periods of continuous physical exertion, such as walking, standing, sitting, stooping, bending, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward pounds.
