Position Summary
The Dispatch Supervisor plays a crucial role in driving the organization’s objectives by overseeing and nurturing the Order Takers/Support Center team.
This position is responsible for ensuring efficient dispatching and scheduling, executed in a prompt and effective manner. The ideal candidate will manage multiple tasks with a strong emphasis on timeliness and responsiveness, while demonstrating a high degree of professionalism, sound judgment, and discretion in interactions with customers, vendors, management, team members, and external partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and develop a large team of Order Takers/Support Center personnel.
- Ensure timely and professional connections between customers and dispatchers.
- Oversee the completion and adjustment of all scheduling as necessary.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and satisfaction.
- Monitor order status, delivery arrangements, and service execution.
- Utilize the dispatch system to track drivers throughout the day.
- Create next-day driver schedules to meet customer demands.
- Conduct job service checks for assignments outstanding for 30 days or more.
- Complete a final review of each job to ensure all billing information is accurate.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, management, vendors, customers, and external partners.
- Build relationships with municipal authorities to enhance project efficiency and quality.
- Ensure the team is equipped with necessary tools and resources.
- Conduct safety meetings and approve payroll.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 3-5 years of experience in management and dispatch operations.
- An associate or bachelor's degree is preferred but not mandatory.
Skills and Attributes
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with a focus on coaching.
- Excellent motivation and organizational abilities.
- Basic understanding of geographical areas and mapping tools for efficient routing.
- Proficient in or able to quickly learn dispatch and record-keeping systems.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
- High integrity and a robust work ethic.
- Capacity to manage multiple tasks effectively with a focus on timeliness and responsiveness.
- High energy, self-motivation, and flexibility.

- Bilingual skills are a plus but not required.
