Job Summary
The University of Maryland Medical System is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our surgical suites.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare the operating room by setting up instrumentation and equipment, and verifying their proper functioning.
- Assure that the surgical field is set up according to the procedure and the surgeon's preference.
- Assist the surgeon during procedures by passing instruments and sterile supplies, maintaining a clean and clutter-free area, and adhering to sterile technique.
- Assist with room turnover, cleaning, and preparing the room for the next procedure in a timely manner.
- Participate in instrument and equipment cleaning and maintenance.
Requirements
A high school graduate or equivalent is required for this position. All applicants will be treated confidentially in accordance with EEO guidelines.
