Job Responsibilities

The Certified Medication Technician (CMT) plays a critical role in ensuring the safe administration of medications to residents under the supervision of a licensed nurse. Key responsibilities include:

  • Administering prescribed medications and treatments as directed by a licensed nurse.
  • Accurately documenting medication administration and resident responses.
  • Observing residents for side effects and reporting any adverse reactions to the nursing team.
  • Assisting with daily living activities as needed, including personal hygiene, feeding, and mobility support.
  • Maintaining compliance with facility policies, procedures, and state/federal regulations.
  • Promoting a safe and clean environment for residents and staff.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, candidates must possess:

  • A valid Certified Medication Technician (CMT) certification in Missouri.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in long-term care or a similar healthcare setting preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
