Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Nurse Job Description

Atrium Health Charlotte is seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Nurse to join our team. As a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Nurse, you will provide high-quality patient care to critically ill children and their families.

Job Summary

The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Nurse will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care to ensure the best possible outcomes. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to patients with complex medical conditions.

Responsibilities
  • Assess patients' physical and emotional needs, and develop individualized care plans to meet those needs.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, and monitor patients' responses to care.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure seamless transitions between departments.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families to promote health and well-being.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
Requirements
  • Current RN license in the state of North Carolina.
  • At least 6 months of experience in pediatric intensive care nursing.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.
