Job Title: Generator Technician

Central Power Systems & Services is seeking a skilled Generator Technician to join our team. As a Generator Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of emergency standby generators and related equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform scheduled maintenance on electric power generation equipment, including gas and diesel engines, generators, and transfer switches.
  • Service calls as needed and dispatched by branch service manager.
  • Complete job notes and any parts requests immediately at the conclusion of all service visits.
  • Knowledge of testing and troubleshooting various sized generators.
  • Drive safely at all times and maintain a clean and orderly company service truck.
Requirements:
  • A high school degree is required and some college or technical school is a plus.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Solid understanding of basic generator and electrical distribution principles.
  • Service experience with gaseous and/or diesel generator sets.
  • Service experience with automatic transfer switches and paralleling switchgear preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand wiring diagrams and schematics.
  • Candidate must own or be able to obtain a personal set of basic hand tools.
